Wobei es beim Biosupdate schwer werden würde, eines für den Rechner zu bekommen.

Hast Du die HDD richtig gejumpert? Siehe die Seite oben.
Welches Betriebsystem hast Du installiert?
Linux sollte die volle Kapazität auch nutzen können, wenn das Bios keine grösseren Platten unterstützt.

Endlich habe ich ein bischen Zeit meinen aufgemotzten 486'er in Gang zu bringen:

CPU AMD X-4 100MHz, getestet läuft!!
RAM 4 EDO's insgesamt 48 MB, getestet läuft!!
100MBit/s LAN, getestet läuft!!
WD 23200, getestet läuft - nur nicht auf diesen blöden Rechner (BIOS AWARD, ROM PCI/ISA BIOS (2A4IBS21) !!

Was heisst läuft nicht: ich bekomme bei richtiger Datenangabe lediglich 1135 MB zu Verfügung. Daten: 6296cyls, 16head, 63sectors...

Kann mir einer einen Intelligenten Rat geben?!
