oh. Ich stelle gerade fest, dass ich hier schon länger nicht mehr ins Forum geschaut habe...

Die haben imho eine API für eigene Plugins in Planung oder evtl. bereits implementiert. Damit liesse sich die Pflegemöglichkeit schaffen.
Aber auf der anderen Seite hängt das vom Einsetzten Mailstore ab. Dem musst Du ja auch beibringen, dass der nicht alle connects auf beiden Protokollen zulässt.

Läuft ganz gut mit Xubuntu. =)

Habe Synaptic installiert und bin sehr positiv überrascht. Ich mag die Übersichtlichkeit! Die Installation ging auch schon über den Standard Ubuntu Softwaremanager.

Dank Synaptic habe ich gleich herausgefunden, dass vim-tiny schon installiert war. Ich hab mich aber für die normale vim Version entschieden. Soll ja nicht zu puristisch werden.^^

das mit den wenigen Anwendungen im Softwarecenter konnte ich ja beim ersten Lesen garnicht glauben. Aber dabei hab ich doch glatt vergessen, das Ubuntu da noch was eigenes drüber geflanscht hat...

Installier Dir als erstes am besten mal Synaptic. Das ist eine grafische Packetverwaltung, die Dir jedes Packet einzelnd anzeigt. Das was Ubuntu da einem in dem Softwarecenter präsentiert ist nur eine kleine Auswahl aus dem, was wirklich verfügbar ist. Ubuntu neigt da zu Gunsten der Übersichtlichkeit leider dazu, nur die Mainstream-Packete anzuzeigen.

Solltest Du auch das nicht im Softwarecenter finden, starte Dir einfach ein Terminal und installiere das manuell mit: "sudo aptitude install synaptic"...

Als IDE könntest Du Dir z.B. mal Geany anschauen. Die hat für viele Sprachen ein Syntaxhighlighting. Die ganzen Schlachtschiffe wie Eclipse und Netbeans laufen aber auch unter Linux.

Und wenn Du noch ein bischen puristischer werden willst...
... der Editor vim auf Konsole hat auch Syntaxhighlighting.

Aber selbst wenn Du das nicht explizit aktiviert hast, müssten die Programme starten. Es kann dann nur sein, dass es bei z.B. der Zwischenablage probleme mit dem Austausch gibt.

Je nachdem welchen packetmanager Du verwendest, kannst Du einfach mal nach "xfce4" suchen. Da wirst Du auf einige Zusatzpackete stoßen. Wie Mike sagte. Einfach mal Installieren und testen.

Eigentlich ist es in jeder Distribution so geregelt, dass Dir der Paketmanager das anbietet, was bei Dir auch laufen sollte...

Alles andere ist ausprobieren und testen. Gefällt? Dann behalten! Gefällt nicht? Wech damit und das nächste Paket probieren ;)

Gerade bei Software mit dem gleichen Anwendungsfall ist es ja doch SEHR häufig ganz einfach Geschmacksache, was einem gefällt und was nicht... Da ich hier KDE einsetze, kann ich Dir konkret zu XFCE nix sagen...

nachdem ich den letzten LEA verpaßt habe und sehr wahrscheinlich den kommenden (aus Gründen der endlichen Raumgeschwindigkeit) ebenfalls verpassen werden, nutze ich dieses Forum um weiter zu kommen.^^

Ich habe auf einem kleinen Medion Netbook seit einigen Tagen Xubuntu installiert und bin im Grunde genommen sehr zufrieden. Nun überlege ich auch noch weitere Programme zu installieren. Was sollte ich zum Beispiel betreffend des "Desktopmanagements" (ich meine XFCE) beachten? Ich bin da leider noch sehr unerfahren, da ich bisher nicht über die Installationsvorauswahl von Anwendungen hinaus gegangen bin. Gibt es Programme, die speziell für XFCE geschrieben sind? Gesetzt den Fall, dass diese These stimmt: Was passiert, wenn ich eine Anwendung, die für z.B. KDE oder Gnome X geschrieben wurde, installiere?
